The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is a professional organization of social workers in the United States. It is one of the largest membership organizations of professional social workers in the world. Each year the NASW National Awards Committee selects and recommends recipients of the Emerging Social Work Leader Award.
In 2015, this award was given to Patrice Lamour by the NASW Massachusetts Chapter. This award recognizes and honors contributions of early career social workers who have demonstrated exemplary leadership, expertise, and dedication to the profession, and whose contributions enhance practice, knowledge, and the profession’s public image and influence.
The Parent/Professional Advocacy League is a statewide organization dedicated to improving the mental health of children, youth, and families through education, advocacy, and partnership.
LAMOUR uses a holistic approach with a multicultural perspective which leads to lasting results for many of the families and youth. LAMOUR combines both traditional and non-traditional therapy mixed with innovative interventions to serve the community. The Changing Lives Award is a new Parent/Professional Advocacy League award, designed to recognize people who are finding new ways to change the children’s mental health system in their region.
